What is grafting?

Grafting or graftage is a horticultural technique whereby tissues from one plant are inserted into those of another so that the two sets of vascular tissues may join together. This vascular joining is called inosculation.

It can also be a process of joining two plants; a seedling or a root stock with a matured fruit bearing plant. Once this process is successful the root stock becomes a matured fruit bearing plant.

This process of grafting also applies to in-arching your plant to produce a double root stock or triple root stock.
